Laura Dreissen started as Assistant Professor in the department of Physics and Astronomy at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam!
Laura will start her brand new research group in precision quantum metrology at the VU. A novel Ba$^+$-based trapped-ion experiment will be developed to explore the quantum enhancement of entangled states and enhance the measurement accuracy for tests of fundamental physics. Her new group is embedded in the Quantum Metrology and Laser Applications section of the Physics and Astronomy department.

My main research interests focus on precision quantum metrology with trapped ions for tests of fundamental physics. I aim to take advantage of quantum-enhanced techniques for more precise and robust measurements with engineered quantum states.
