09/ma -- comment(s) / statistic(s)

  • 29/09/09 -- I am pleasantly surprised to see that many groups realized the annotation editor, in particular given the variety of viewers, ranging from video players to image collage generators. Good work, and inspiring to look at!
  • 21/09/09 -- 8 out of 33 (=35-2) NOL, however there is a lot of nice work, with a sometimes funny, sometimes more aesthetic, and sometimes more media/society oriented touch. Promising, I could comment in many cases. There was one annotation editor, although not yet integrated with the media viewer, which it should be. Coding, when I looked at it, seemed all in all quite clean, although often the logos were not a component, but just an image, mimicking the original logo. Learn the craft, and improve (that)! If you do not know what to do for a final assignment, look at math game(s), as I already suggested to ~ma1219 and do not hesitate to ask questions when you are in doubt.
  • 12/09/09 -- the atmosphere the class seems good, the assignment(s) clear, nevertheless as the statistic(s) show only about one third of the groups has a portfolio online. That means about 2/3 is still NOL.

The sites that are online generally look good, at a first quick inspection, However, ~ma1201 already uses papervision 3D, at ~ma1209 we find a .wrl file and .doc for the documentation (he guys wake up, this course is about flex/as3), fortunately ~ma1210 looks excellent, ~ma1213 OK, ~ma1217 (very) promising in both style an skill, and 18 has nice smooth effects. Further, continuing this brief inspection, ~ma1218 is excellent, also in style, ~ma1218 only offers a zip (correct this!), ~ma1226 offers a complete RIA application, omitting all basic exercises (why?), ~ma1229 looks nice although a bit flashy (by importing swf you do not learn the basics of flex/as3!), ~ma1230 is OK (although as most they offer the source only as zip), ~ma1231 offers a nice gedget, but seems incomplete by not offerince the source.

In conclusion, those online are on the right way, but ~ma1209 wake up!, and the others make the source available as text, an later as .zip. We must be able to browse your code, and not only be able to download it! For those who are NOL (Not OnLine), make an effort to put your material online ASAP. If there are any technical obstacles, please notify us, an ask questions to get the answers that allow you to proceed.
