PostDoc in Physics

I am studying the properties of vacuum. Contrary to common belief, space not being filled by matter of any kind, is not empty. By the predictions of quantum field theory, it is populated by an infinite fluctuating `sea' of virtual particles, being created and annihilated in an instant. This omnipresent background gives rise to measurable effects.
